Services Feasibility to Practical Completion

ade architecture are proud to have completed this impressive contemporary project off the King’s Road, in Chelsea. The radical internal remodelling at lower ground and ground floor levels have completely transformed the house from a dark and claustrophobic environment into a light and spacious family home.

Significant interventions were made in this house, by pushing up and down. A double height space was created between the ground and lower ground floor levels, featuring double height Crittall doors and a glass roof. The footprint of the existing basement was pushed out, by excavating to the rear and lowering the garden, allowing the two to be linked together.

The double height glazing, exposed brickwork, large format concrete tiles and the elegant timber and metal staircase give the house a contemporary feel. However, when combined with the parquet flooring, hand-painted kitchen and the owner’s colourful art collection, a warm and inviting family home is created.
