Stage One was completed in 2009 and involved the creation of a contemporary pavilion style rear extension. The modern design provides a light and airy dining and living area, opening up to the rear garden.
Stage Two, completed in 2010, entailed the creation of a contemporary style loft conversion, consisting of two new bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and walk-in wardrobe space.
The explicit creative aim was to give the impression that an extra floor had been added to the original house. This has been achieved by utilising floor to ceiling windows and doors and by mixing modern and traditional methods of construction.
Externally the pavilion and loft are clad in natural timber and smooth render; internally the clean lines are enhanced by underfloor heating, at ground floor and loft level.
